TELLO EDU DRONE Quick Start Guide
TELLO EDU is a programmable drone provided by RYZE and powered by DJI. Although it is a kind of toy drone, but It is a good product to learn drone programming with multiple languages such as Python, and Swift. Let’s take off.
Purchase through DJI and Wait.
You can purchase TELLO and TELLO EDU in the DJI store. If you want to try drone programming, I recommend TELLO EDU. “EDU" is short for “education".
Also, I recommend to purchase additional batteries and charger. Because only one battery is bundled with the drone, and it can be run out easily.

It took a month to receive the drone after I ordered it…
Anyway, I got it.
Setup TELLO EDU Drone
Setup is very simple. Attach the battery to the drone. Then charge it via USB cable.
Install TELLO EDU application
Because I purchased TELLO EDU instead of normal TELLO, I installed TELLO EDU application into my smart phone to control my drone. application can be downloaded from Google play or App store.
However, when I tried to move my drone with this application, it didn’t work. Also the following error message is displayed on the application.
The message said “Your drone has not been activated. You should use the official TELLO APP to activate your drone before use".
Why? Is this unofficial application?
Finally, I found out that here is an official application. We need to install it to activate the drone.
After activation, My drone could take off!
